Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Meowly (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Meowly mobile app and this website.

Information we collect

• Account information. Email address, username, and authentication credentials (passwords are handled by our auth provider; we do not store plaintext passwords).
• User content. Posts (including image URLs and captions), likes, bookmarks, comments, and profile details such as bio or avatar that you choose to provide.
• Technical data. Basic service logs needed to operate the product (for example, timestamps of sign-in or save errors). We do not sell personal information or use advertising identifiers for tracking across apps.

How we use information

We use this information to:

• Provide the Meowly feed, profiles, and social features
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Improve reliability and fix bugs
• Respond to support requests you send us

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos for advertising.

Service providers

We use Supabase to host authentication, database, file storage, and server functions. Before a post is published, we send the selected image to an automated image-recognition service (currently Google Cloud Vision and/or Hugging Face) solely to verify that a cat appears in the photo. That check is used for content moderation, not advertising. We do not sell personal information or share your content with third parties for their own marketing.

Data retention

We keep your account and content while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your account record and associated Meowly data from our systems, except where we are legally required to retain limited records.

Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data from inside the Meowly app: open Profile, then Delete my account. You can also request deletion by contacting us through the support page. Deletion removes the account; temporary deactivation alone is not our model.

Children

Meowly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Meowly after an update means you accept the revised policy.
